Football API endpoints

Explore our available football APIs.

Browse the enabled endpoints for scores, fixtures, standings, statistics and football images. Access depends on your plan and league selection. This is our service catalogue, not a live uptime monitor.

How it works

From sign-up to first league table.

  1. 1

    Create an account

Sign up and verify your email. Your dashboard opens straight away.

  2. 2

    Get access

Choose and pay for an available plan in your billing dashboard. Some services require separate activation; ask support about coverage.

  3. 3

    Generate a key

Shown once. Keep it in your server's secrets manager, never in a browser.

  4. 4

    Call /api/v1/football

Send X-API-Key. Each feed documents its own query parameters.

curl --fail-with-body \
  "$API_BASE_URL/api/v1/football/standings?leagueId=1204" \
  -H "X-API-Key: $FOOTBALLAPI_KEY"

Set API_BASE_URL to the gateway URL shown in your dashboard. Feed IDs come from the catalogue.

{
  "meta": { "feed": "standings", ... },
  "data": { ...normalised provider response... }
}

Illustrative shape. Exact fields are documented per feed.

Enabled per account

Put the football feed inside your AI assistant.

Our MCP server gives compatible AI clients read-only access to qualified football feeds: fixtures, scores, standings, squads and profiles. It retrieves data; it does not predict results.

  • One URL

Point a supported client at the server URL, sign in and approve. Or use a key header in Cursor, VS Code or Claude Code.

  • Read-only by design

Read-only scope. No account, key or billing access. Revoke the connection whenever you like.

  • Same allowance

Tool calls count against the limits applied to your account, exactly like REST requests.

REST API access stays available on every plan. Third-party AI client costs and terms are separate.

Illustrative animation with invented team names. Not a live feed, and no outcome predictions.

About

Football data infrastructure for people who build.

FootballAPI.net is an association-football data platform for developers, publishers and analysts. It brings fixtures, results, tables, squads and profiles behind one documented REST interface with API keys, usage reporting and support.

We are a data provider, not a bookmaker. We do not take bets and we do not sell betting predictions. Predicted line-ups, where qualified, are team-selection forecasts supplied by the source.

We publish what we have verified and what we have not. Coverage, freshness and redistribution rights are confirmed feed by feed before anything is marked active.

One gateway, many feeds

Scores, fixtures, standings, squads, profiles and leaderboards share one authenticated /api/v1/football route with documented parameters.

Source values, not guesses

Statuses, minutes and scores are passed through as supplied. Unresolved timezones are flagged, not silently converted.

Your keys, your usage

Keys are shown once, can be rotated or revoked, and usage figures come only from your real requests.

Honest about limits

Feeds that failed checks are labelled blocked. Live data, odds and league logos are not offered until verified.

FAQ

Straight answers.

What is verified, what is pending, and how access works.

Ask a question

Accounts and access

How do I get access?
Create an account and verify your email, then choose a plan in Dashboard → Billing. Save your league selection before subscribing to Starter. Paid access activates after payment is confirmed. Creating an account or key alone does not activate a paid plan. Contact support for services that require separate access activation.
Can I pay online?
Yes. Available plans use secure on-site card checkout in Dashboard → Billing. No VAT is currently charged. Daily included requests reset at midnight UTC with no rollover. Additional successful requests cost €0.002 each, billed on the monthly EUR subscription invoice. Failed and denied attempts are not billed. No payment is taken while checkout is unavailable.
How do API keys work?
Generate keys in your dashboard. Each secret is shown once, so store it in a secrets manager. Send it as the X-API-Key header on every request from your server. Keys can be rotated or revoked instantly.

Plans and usage

How do quotas and rate limits work?
Starter includes 5,000 successful requests per UTC day, Growth 25,000 and Pro 250,000. Allowances reset at midnight UTC without rollover and are shared across your account keys. Extra successful requests cost €0.002 each on your monthly EUR invoice; failed and denied requests are not billed. An account safety ceiling of 100 requests per second also applies.
Can I connect an AI assistant?
Our read-only MCP server lets compatible AI clients call football feeds for accounts that have MCP enabled. See the MCP guide.
Do you provide betting tips or predictions?
No. FootballAPI.net does not provide betting tips, odds-based predictions or betting advice. Predicted line-ups, where qualified, are the source's team-selection forecasts.
How can I track my usage?
Your dashboard shows daily requests, errors and the most recent request log for every key on your account.

The data

Is this American football?
No. FootballAPI.net covers association football, sometimes called soccer.
Which competitions are covered?
Coverage varies by feed family and competition. Discover valid competition IDs through the competition directory feed rather than assuming a list. See the coverage page for what has been sampled.
Do you have live scores?
Yes, the published REST catalogue includes currently live matches and score services. Availability and field completeness vary by competition and account. REST live scores are separate from ball tracking and WebSocket streaming; they do not activate those services or guarantee a particular delivery latency.
Can I show team crests and player photos?
Team crests, player images and venue images are served through our own media route, keyed by team or player ID. Venue images use the team ID. League logos are not verified and are not offered.
Is historical data available?
Historical season fixtures and standings were sampled for at least one competition. Depth varies by competition and season, so we do not promise a blanket archive.
Do you supply betting odds?
No odds endpoint is currently published in our public catalogue, and odds are not an available standard-plan capability. Contact support about current availability before planning an integration. Certain live services require separate activation and approved server IP addresses.

Where is the full documentation?
