Notes from the touchline.

Short pieces on how we qualify football data and why.

What an enabled football endpoint tells you

The public catalogue lists callable services. Account permissions, competition coverage and real-time monitoring answer different questions.

Read the note

The public football catalogue is a directory of enabled endpoints, not a live uptime percentage. A listed service can still require a suitable plan, saved league choices or separate activation. Read its parameters before making a request, and distinguish a successful empty collection from a permission error. Neither tells you that every match in every competition will have the same fields.

A received sample establishes that a response was inspected. It does not establish guaranteed latency, complete historical coverage or continuous availability. Administrators use separate quality checks to monitor delivery. Developers should retain fetch times, validate envelopes and expose useful freshness information to their own users rather than treating a catalogue entry as a service-level agreement.

REST live scores and ball tracking are separate services

A polled live-score response is not a ball-position stream. Choose the interface that matches your product and confirm access separately.

Read the note

Our published REST catalogue includes currently live matches and score services. Your server requests a snapshot, validates it and renders your match centre. Coverage and field completeness vary, and a REST response does not promise an event-by-event stream or a particular delay. Cache the last successful response and make its age visible when refreshes fail.

The native ball tracker uses a different delivery path and requires separate activation. A football subscription or a successful REST live request does not enable ball coordinates automatically. Some live services require approved outbound server IP addresses. The tracker demonstration is clearly simulated; it is not evidence that a live account or match has been activated.

Our three football API plans

Starter covers a choice of 5 leagues. Growth and Pro cover all available leagues, with different daily API allowances and monthly euro prices.

Read the note

Monthly prices and league allowances are published on the pricing page. Starter covers a choice of 5 leagues; Growth and Pro cover all leagues available through our football data package. Daily API allowances distinguish Growth from Pro. Coverage and feeds remain subject to availability.

Daily included requests reset at midnight UTC without rollover. Additional successful metered requests cost €0.002 each, billed monthly in arrears on the EUR subscription invoice. Failed and denied attempts are not billed. No VAT is currently charged. Create an account to review current subscription availability in Dashboard → Billing. Registration alone does not start a paid subscription or a free trial, and a subscription does not enable separately activated live services.
